Shower Installation – Which Shower Pan is Right For You?

Whether you’re shopping for a shower enclosure, or simply an upgrade to your current tub, shower installation can be a great (and occasionally, very necessary) addition to any home. The shower kit itself will come complete with almost everything you need to install a fully functional shower in your bathtub, but does require a lot of plumbing or carpentry knowledge on your part. Knowing what you want before shopping will save you time and money in the long run. You may also want to consult your plumber or bathroom contractor before purchasing your new shower cubicle so they can give you a better idea of what is possible and what will work best in your home. After all, different homes have different construction standards, and your new shower will fit accordingly. The good news is that there are many types of shower enclosures available, so you shouldn’t have any problems finding the perfect unit for your home.

Shower Installation

One of the most popular types of shower enclosure today is the shower stall shower installation. Shower stalls are much like walk in showers, except they offer more privacy and room in the back. They also tend to be smaller than walk in showers, which makes them ideal for apartments or small spaces. These units are typically made of a metal frame with either a curved, or straight, frame.

If you’re looking for a much larger shower installation, then a full-sized walk-in tub will be out of the question, unless you are fortunate enough to have a large bathroom. If this is the case, then you will have to opt for either a shower enclosure or a shower stall. There are many options to choose from when it comes to a shower stall installation, and this type of shower installation will require professional installation if you are unable to install your own claw foot tub. This is one of the main reasons why it’s best to hire a professional if you plan on installing a tub on your own.

Clawfoot tub showers are another popular type of shower enclosure, and they are great if you are looking for both a shower, and a bathtub. A claw foot bathtub is essentially a foot bathtub that have a tub on the side, rather than a sitting area at the bottom. Many of these types of tubs will allow you to adjust the height of the tub as well, so you can get in and out of the tub easily. If you live in a house with a small bathroom, then this type of bathtub may not be the best choice for you, but they do tend to fit well in smaller bathtubs that aren’t as deep.

If your bathroom does not currently have a good place to sit, and you would like the option of sitting in your bathtub, then you may need to consider a freestanding shower pan. These pans come in a variety of sizes, and you can install one yourself if you are comfortable doing so. If you want a professional install the pan, then this is an option as well. However, many of the pans that are sold in stores come with the necessary instructions, and then you may simply have to follow them to get the job done correctly.

A walk-in shower enclosure, also called a shower pan, is another great choice for the homeowner who has an odd shaped or large sized bathroom. These types of enclosures fit right over your existing bathtub, and they give you the same benefits as a new bathtub. They usually include a door on the side, and there are plenty of features and options. Some of these include an adjustable seat, hand controls for jets and massage, as well as jets and floor mats. If you do not want to have to pay for a new bathtub, but still want the same great benefits, a walk-in shower pan is the way to go. As with a freestanding enclosure, you can always choose a different pan later if you decide you do not like the one you have at the moment.
