Bathtub Installation Prices – How Expensive Are Bathtubs?

Bathtub Installation is not rocket science but it does need some skills to get the job done. If you are having someone install your bathtub for you make sure they use the proper tools and have the proper knowledge to do a good job. There are certain items you will want to look out for and the below list should help you get the most out of your bathtub installation.

Bathtub Installation – Using a hammer and/or power drill to pull out the old bathtub floor. I’ve had Super Hammer for many years and love this thing to pieces. Nail down the new floor to the cement joist’s with the supplied nails. In this instance we used 3/4 inch nails because it was the same size as the old tongue and groove floor tiles.

Installing the Shower surround – The type of shower surround you put into your bathtub will depend on how you intend on using your bathtub. You can either build around your bathtub or build on top of the bathtub. In either case your bathtub installation guidelines will be different than if you were putting in a regular tub. Because shower surrounds are typically made of masonry they are usually a lot sturdier than regular tubs and require slightly different tools for installation.

Installing the Taps – Always measure your bathtub first! It might take you a little time to find the correct spot to place your bathtub and then install the taps right over that spot. A measure for the width and length of your bathroom before you go any further. You want everything to flow naturally into your bathtub and not look like a nightmare of jumbled jagged walls.

Caring For Your Tubs – The key to caring for your soaking tubs is to keep them clean. Make sure that you never pour hot water onto your bathtubs. You should also never use harsh chemicals on your bathtubs. This will cause the paint on your bathtubs to peel off. Use mild detergent soap and warm water to cleanse your bathtubs once a week.

Bathtub installation prices range from under $1000 for a basic plastic tub surround to over a few thousand dollars for a marble or granite tub surround. Obviously the price of the tub surrounds will depend heavily on the material used in their fabrication and how fancy you want them to be. Also, keep in mind that some bathtub surrounds have rollers that extend down from the floor to hold the slabs in place. These types of tub surrounds will be more expensive because of the additional cost associated with the rollers. For more details on bathroom remodeling visit www.lasvegasbathroomremodeling.net.
